About this course

About this course

Securing access for users connecting from outside the corporate network is a common challenge for administrators. Even if an end-user is authenticated with two-factor authentication (2FA) and meets all the policy requirements to access protected applications, you may not always be able to determine whether the device they are using poses a security risk. The Duo Device Health application gives administrators more control over which laptop and desktop computers can access corporate applications based on device security hygiene.

The Device Health application works both with and without a traditional device management system and can be combined with Duo policy settings to enforce access control based on device trust. Unlike a device management agent, it preserves an end-user’s administrative control of their device by enforcing compliance at the time of authentication.

This course will detail how it works for both end-users and administrators, and it will explore how it may be configured to build a strong foundation for a zero-trust security model in your organization.

  • Describe the end-user experience of the Device Health client application
  • Identify supported methods to install the client application, including:
    • Self-download via Duo Prompt
    • Self-download via links
    • Managed deployment
  • Explain the relationship between the Device Health application and traditional management systems
  • Describe when and how device health data is collected
