Introduction to Duo Passwordless
Are you ready to begin your journey to passwordless authentication? Learn how Duo Passwordless works, its security benefits and business value, and discover what you need to make the transition to modern authentication.
This course offers an introduction to Duo Passwordless. Duo Passwordless uses platform authenticators, security keys from access devices, or Duo Push to provide access to your critical applications without passwords. Duo Passwordless reduces the risks and administrative burden associated with passwords while improving the user experience.
Adopting passwordless, or “modern authentication,” will be a journey whose length will vary depending upon the complexity of your security environment. This course will introduce the steps involved in analyzing, preparing, and transitioning your environment to Duo Passwordless. In addition to discussing the benefits of Duo Passwordless and how it works, this course will explain the enrollment and authentication experience, configuring your Duo policies, as well as how to enable, configure, and test Duo Passwordless. Finally, we will provide you with a roadmap for tracking and troubleshooting your journey to passwordless authentication.
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- explain what Duo Passwordless is and how it works
- explain the security benefits of Duo Passwordless
- differentiate between the available passwordless authentication methods
- evaluate your security environment to determine whether or not it meets the basic requirements and prerequisites for adopting passwordless authentication
- enable passwordless authentication and configure Duo policies
- test and troubleshoot your implementation of Duo Passwordless
- create a roadmap for completing the journey to passwordless authentication
Note: While using Duo Passwordless requires Duo Single Sign-On with Active Directory authentication, you can chain your organization's existing SAML identity provider (IdP) to Duo SSO to provide passwordless login to the applications already federated with your IdP.
